Aave Health Factor Calculator
Blend every collateral asset into one weighted average liquidation threshold and see your real health factor, the multi-collateral way Aave actually calculates it.

The values above are editable examples so the tool is useful right away, not live Aave parameters. Liquidation thresholds are set per asset by Aave governance and change over time, check the current value on Aave's own market page for your asset and chain, then edit it here.

How the weighted average liquidation threshold works
Aave's own formula is Health Factor = (Total Collateral Value x Weighted Average Liquidation Threshold) / Total Borrow Value. The weighted part matters the moment you hold more than one collateral asset: each one carries its own liquidation threshold, and Aave blends them by how much USD value each asset contributes to the position, not a simple average of the thresholds.
Picture $15,000 of ETH sitting next to $5,000 of USDC, each on its own liquidation threshold. Because ETH is three times the USD value, the blended threshold for the position sits far closer to ETH's threshold than an unweighted average of the two would suggest. That is the gap a single-collateral tool cannot show. Our liquidation calculator is the right tool for one collateral against one debt, this page exists for the more common case, several collateral assets, possibly several borrowed assets, in the same health factor.
The drop-to-liquidation figure assumes your collateral moves down together, which is a realistic stress scenario for correlated assets such as ETH and wstETH. If only one asset falls while the others hold steady, your real buffer is larger than this estimate. For the full mechanics of Aave's own health factor, see our Aave health factor guide, and for what happens once a position crosses into liquidation, read that guide next.
E-Mode and correlated assets
Aave's E-Mode raises the liquidation threshold for a category of correlated assets, for example ETH alongside liquid staking tokens like wstETH, because they tend to move together. A higher threshold on the same collateral produces a higher health factor for the same position. This calculator does not hardcode E-Mode numbers, since the category and its threshold are set by Aave governance and change over time. Model it yourself by editing the liquidation threshold on the relevant collateral rows to whatever your market's current E-Mode category uses.
What happens below a health factor of 1
Once the health factor reaches 1.0 or below, the position becomes liquidatable and any liquidator, not a fixed party, can step in. They repay part of your debt and receive the equivalent value of your collateral plus a liquidation bonus, the incentive that makes liquidation worth doing. That bonus, and how much debt can be repaid in a single liquidation, is defined per reserve by Aave governance, it is not the same number for every asset, so treat any figure you see quoted elsewhere as a snapshot rather than a constant.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the Aave health factor formula?
- Aave defines it as Health Factor = (Total Collateral Value x Weighted Average Liquidation Threshold) / Total Borrow Value. When you hold more than one collateral asset, each one has its own liquidation threshold, so the protocol blends them into a single weighted average based on how much of your collateral each asset represents. That is the number this calculator derives for you.
- What is a safe Aave health factor?
- There is no single official cutoff, but many borrowers try to stay above 1.5 to 2.0 so ordinary volatility does not put them at risk. A health factor between 1.2 and 1.5 leaves a thinner buffer, and anything between 1.0 and 1.2 is close enough to liquidation that a normal price swing could trigger it. Below 1.0, the position is liquidatable.
- What happens if my health factor drops below 1?
- Once the health factor falls to 1.0 or below, any liquidator can repay part of your debt and seize the equivalent value of your collateral, plus a liquidation bonus. That bonus, and how much of the debt can be repaid in one liquidation, is defined per reserve by Aave governance and differs by asset, so this calculator does not invent a number for it.
- What is the difference between LTV and liquidation threshold?
- Max LTV (loan-to-value) is the cap on how much you can borrow against a given collateral when you first open the position. Liquidation threshold is the point at which that same collateral stops being able to cover your debt safely and the position becomes eligible for liquidation. Max LTV is always lower than or equal to the liquidation threshold, which is what creates your starting buffer.
- Does this work for Morpho and Euler?
- Yes. Morpho and Euler use the same shape of formula, collateral value times a liquidation threshold (or its equivalent) divided by debt, to produce a health factor. Enter the collateral values, per-asset thresholds and debt from your Morpho or Euler position and the math holds, only the exact per-asset threshold values differ by protocol and market.
