How the “what if I invested” calculator works
This tool looks up the coin's price on the month you choose and its price today, then works out how many units your amount would have bought and what they are worth now. The result is a buy-and-hold comparison: current value, profit and your multiple.
Prices come from DeFiLlama historical data, which are daily reference prices, so treat the output as a close estimate rather than an exact intraday fill. Very old or very small tokens may have gaps. It does not include fees, staking or dollar-cost averaging.

How the calculation is done
The tool fetches the coin's reference price on the month you select and its price right now. Your amount buys a number of units at the old price, and those units are revalued at today's price. The difference is your profit, and the ratio is your multiple, a pure buy-and-hold outcome.
Prices are daily reference values from DeFiLlama, so they capture the right level for a date rather than an exact fill. Very early or very small tokens may not have data that far back.

Every big 'what if' hides a hard truth: holding through the drawdowns is the part almost nobody manages. The same position that would be worth a fortune today spent long stretches deep underwater, and most people sold.
